Farris throws a no-hitter, Webster hits grand slam

Camdenton had no trouble securing a road win at Joplin Wednesday night.

Consistent hitting and shutdown pitching led to an 11-0 shutout over the Eagles in five innings.

Camdenton held a slim 3-0 lead through three innings of play, but piled on five runs in the fourth and three more runs in the fifth to end it.

Camdenton’s Shelby Webster paced the Laker offense with three hits, which also featured a grand slam as she finished with five RBIs on the night. Haile Farris produced four RBIs on two hits, Emma Uthe added an RBI and the bat of Jillian Selander also recorded three hits.

Meanwhile, Farris silenced the Joplin offense with a no-hitter through five innings of work as she walked just one batter while striking out 13.

Camdenton improves to 18-8 overall and finishes Ozark Conference play at 7-2, which trails only conference champion West Plains who finished 8-1 with the only conference loss coming from a 3-2 defeat at Camdenton earlier this season. The Lakers were scheduled to host Bolivar on Thursday and wrap up the regular season with a trip to Dixon on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
