Camdenton wins regular season finale in Jefferson City
Camdenton had another good day when the Lakers visited Jefferson City for the regular season finale Thursday night.
The Lakers won the tri-meet with the host Jays and Eldon, posting a team score of 177 to Jefferson City’s 199 and Eldon’s 209. With the win, Camdenton closed out the regular season with a record of 9-1.
“It was a great way to celebrate Senior Night and finish our match part of the season,” Camdenton coach Jane Eidson said. “I am so proud of all we have accomlished so far this season. Everyone made good improvements to their games.”
Camdenton’s Amber Wilson won yet another event and earned the honor of match medalist with the best 9-hole round of the day at 37. Jennah Schell posted a 43, Coley Rezabek recorded a 46, Allie Crowell finished her day at 51 and Emily Hunter rounded up the scoring at 62.
Camdenton was scheduled to host district action at Lake Valley Golf and Country Club on Monday with the hopes of sending players off to sectionals.
Osage finishes third in home finale
School of the Osage hosted Blair Oaks, Southern Boone and Waynesville in a quad meet at Osage National Golf Club Thursday night.
The Indians finished third with the Falcons of Blair Oaks winning the event and the Eagles of Southern Boone taking second.
“We had our best 9-hole team score of the season,” Osage coach L.J. Weeks noted. “While we did not win, this is a great momentum boost for the team going into districts and looking ahead to next year. The girls made some great progress this season, especially the younger girls who were very new to the game.”
Osage’s Greta Cooks, who is a freshman, posted the lowest round for the Indians with a 52.
Osage was scheduled to visit Whispering Oaks Golf Course in Marshfield on Monday for district action. The top two teams and the next 15 individuals will advance to sectionals the following week.
