Camdenton comes up short at Jeff City

Camdenton hit the road Tuesday night to take on the Jays of Jefferson City and it proved to be a tough road trip for the Lakers as they fell in two sets 25-23 and 25-13.

Junior Natalie Basham led the Camdenton attack with 10 kills while senior Madison VanderPloeg put up four and sophomore Megan Vest added three. Fueling the attack was senior Abbie Miller who finished her night with 15 assists respectively.

Meanwhile, senior Grace Wormek did her part to keep her team fighting on the defensive end with 11 kills while senior Kylie Meier added seven, Miller recorded six and Basham finished with five.

The loss puts Camdenton at 7-12-1 on the season and the Lakers will look to rebound on their home court Thursday night when Ozark Conference foe Hillcrest comes to town. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Versailles takes down Boonville

Versailles hosted future Tri-County Conference foe Boonville Tuesday night and the Tigers secured a two-set win by final scores of 25-23 and 25-22.

Bri Hendrix smacked down five kills while Brooke Edgar put up four and Taralee Edgar added nine assists respectively. Also fueling the attack were the six total aces produced by Emma Geier and Brooke who finished with three each.

Defensively, Hope Heimsoth put up 13 digs and Hendrix recorded eight.

Versailles improves to 10-9-2 with the win and remains 1-3 in the conference. Up next for the Tigers is a contest at California on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
