Laker golfers take the title with big day at Joplin
The Ozark Conference bragging rights belong to Camdenton this year.
The Lakers took their swings in conference tournament play Schifferdecker Golf Course in Joplin on Monday and put up a solid performance with a team score of 360, which outpaced the rest of the conference by 12 strokes.
“We are so excited to have achieved this honor,” Camdenton coach Jane Eidson stated. “The girls continue to improve and play well and it all came together for us today.”
Amber Wilson finished the day as the Ozark Conference individual champion with a 1-over-par score of 72 and Jennah Schell also earned All-Conference honors taking fifth with a round of 84. It was the second straight year both golfers earned spots on the All-Conference team and the Lakers saw good production from the rest of the team as well. Coley Rezabek was All-Conference Honorable Mention with a score of 95 in her first year on the team and Allie Crowell and Emily Hunter had strong finishes to bring in the conference title.
“The other girls made a good contribution to the earning of this honor,” Eidson pointed out. “This gives us good confidence going into district play.”
