Tigers bring home three medals from Smith-Cotton
Versailles took a trip up to Smith-Cotton in Sedalia Saturday morning and it was a good day for the Tigers as three runners walked away with medals.
For the boys’ team, Kendall Reger had the top time for the Tigers as he took fifth with his fastest outing of the year at 18:14. Cylan Burns also earned a medal taking 15th with his best time of 2017 at 19:43. Keely Gustafson was the lone Tiger in the girls’ race, but she was one of the fastest as she finished fourth with a time of 23:56.
“Smith-Cotton is a flat, fast course and our times support that,” Versailles coach Laura Piercy said.
Other Versailles runners also improved upon their times. Colby Boicourt narrowly missed out on a medal finishing 16th at 19:56, Juan Comstock shaved an entire minute off last week’s time taking 23rd at 21:30, Trent Hyman posted his best time of the season earning 26th at 21:50 and Joe Jeffries took 33rd at 24:25.
Up next for the Tigers is a race at Hermitage on Saturday at 9 a.m.
