Camdenton cruises in two-set win at Southern Boone

Camdenton hit the road Monday night to take on the Eagles of Southern Boone and it turned out to be a good trip for the Lakers as they won in two sets by final scores of 25-20 and 25-16.

Camdenton junior Natalie Basham led the offensive as she smacked down five kills while senior Sara McDuffey put up four kills and both senior Kylie Meier and sophomore Megan Vest put up two each. Setting up the Laker attack was senior Abbie Miller who finished the night with 10 assists.

On the defensive end, senior Grace Wormek made the night tough for Southern Boone with a team-leading nine digs while senior Madison VanderPloeg put up eight respectively.

Camdenton (4-7-1) got back on track after winning just two of six games at last weekend’s Hillcrest Tournament. The Lakers will return to the court Wednesday night when they visit Glendale for an Ozark Conference showdown. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Eldon downs Boonville

Eldon hosted future Tri-County Conference foe Boonville Monday night and the Mustangs took down the Pirates in two sets, 26-24 and 25-22.

Grace Baucom led the Eldon attack with 15 kills while Dakota Graham put up 11 of her own and Leah Stichler fueled the attack with 17 assists while Baucom added eight respectively.

Defensively, Bailey Farris helped preserve the lead with 18 digs while Baucom added 14, Addie Davis put up 10 and Graham finished with seven.

Eldon (10-2-1) will visit Versailles for a Highway 52 showdown at 6 p.m.
