Indians remain unbeaten in 2017

The winning streak continues for School of the Osage as the Indians kept their record unblemished with a 7-2 win.

While Osage coach Brandy Hutzler offered plenty of praise for the varsity squad and their ability to rally, the coach took some time to admire the program’s overall depth as the junior varsity also had a good night. With the abundance of courts at Cosmo Park in Columbia, Hutzler was able to see her full team in action and she liked what she saw.

“It was the first time this season that the junior varsity was able to show off so much skill during competition,” Hutzler noted. “I see it all the time at practice, but knowing that m younger players can perform just as well when game time comes is reassuring. It’s great to see the daily improvements.”

Emma Glendenning and Emma Koeppen swept their opponents 6-0 in the No. 1 doubles competition while Alexis Dabbs and Jessica Bradley did the same at the No. 2 spot. The coach also liked the play of Maddie Adams who won both singles matches and Paige Davis who also had a strong singles performance.

Osage (5-0) hosted Fulton on Tuesday in the home opener and will host a tournament on Saturday.
