Versailles fans will soon have a chance to meet the athletes who will represent the Tigers this fall.

The school will host a “Meet the Tigers Night” on the football field August 10 at 6 p.m., where athletes and coaching staffs will be introduced. A bonfire will follow immediately after at the City Park.

According to Athletic Director Kyle Middleton, the event was an idea from a group called “Bleed Black and Gold.” The organization is made of community members who are trying to enhance the experience of playing sports at Versailles.

“They are doing things like this to get the school teams and community all together and on the same page,” Middleton stated. “We feel as a community that we need more support for our athletic teams so we are trying to gain as much exposure to the public as we can.”

Middleton went on to say that they plan on doing these types of events before every sports season.

For this event, donations of gatorade and water are suggested in place of admission and Morgan the Tiger will also be available for picture opportunities.
