Camdenton played host to Ozark Conference foe Joplin on Tuesday for Senior Night and the Lakers made sure their night would not be spoiled as they cruised to a 9-0 win over the Eagles.
“We played well overall and had 27 shots on goal,” Camdenton coach Chris Byington pointed out. “We just focused on playing our game before districts.”
Camdenton’s Natalie Schulte paced the relentless offensive attack with four goals on the night while Aeryn Kennedy also recorded a hat trick with three goals respectively. Grace Hall and Ireland Betta also found the back of the net with a goal each.
Camdenton (12-6-1, 6-3 Ozark Conference) finishes out the regular season on a positive note and will now prepare for postseason play. The Lakers will face Warrensburg (3-10) at Helias Catholic in Jefferson City on Monday at 6:45 p.m. The two sides faced off earlier this season and it was the Lakers who came away with a 6-1 win on March 30.
Should Camdenton advance, they will take on the winner of Helias Catholic (7-9) and Marshall (9-9) in the district championship on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
