Eldon visited Tri-County Conference foe Hallsville for doubleheader action on Saturday and the Mustangs split the pair of games taking the former contest 9-4 and dropping the latter 4-3 in extra innings.

Eldon cruised in the first contest as Tate Warny provided a hot bat with three of Eldon’s 13 hits and two RBIs while Darian Mergelkamp also brought in two runs and Austin Pipes, Adam Neighbors and Drew Rodriguez picked up an RBI each. On the mound, the duo of Rodriguez and Corbin Harrison allowed just four runs on four hits while walking three and striking out 11.

In the second game both sides were tied at three until the Indians managed to bring home the winning run in the eighth inning. The Mustangs were held to just three hits while Neighbors and Mergelkamp recorded the team’s two RBIs. Meanwhile, Pipes and Harrison went to work on the mound and allowed just a single earned run while walking four and striking out 11 batters.

Eldon (3-1) was scheduled to face Russellville Tuesday and will visit rival Osage on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
