Victory was yet again within reach Monday night for Versailles.
The Tigers played host to St. Paul Lutheran out of Concordia and fell by a final score of 64 to 60.
It was the team’s third straight loss by 10 points or less and despite the short slump, Versailles coach Jason Ollison said this team should be ready to go come district time.
“The effort tonight was really good. We are moving in the right direction and I am confident that by playoff time, this team is going to be in a good place,” he stated. “We still need to find consistency with our defense, but overall I am very proud of the fight and competitiveness this group of young men have shown.”
Shane Randall lead the Tigers with a 23-point performance while Hunter Edgar added 14 points, Jonathan Geier finished with 12 and Tyler Zolecki contributed nine respectively.
Versailles (9-11, 1-2 Tri-County Conference) visited Hallsville Tuesday night and will make a trip to Blair Oaks on Friday at 8 p.m.
