Several fisherman have gotten quite the surprise while casting a line at Table Rock Lake - an alligator trying to take a chomp at their bait.

The alligator is reportedly three feet long and has been seen several times in recent weeks.
One fisherman reported the alligator as chasing his buzzbait.

Fishermen have been snapping photos, even video of the alligator.

After looking at one photo, Morgan County Sheriff's Department Detective Greg Martin said the Table Rock alligator does not appear to be the still missing alligator from Morgan County.

Wally, an immature five-foot alligator, was taken from his Gravois Mills home in early June. There's been little word of his whereabouts since then except for rumors and speculation.

Officials believe Wally likely died from boat traffic on the lake or a similar cause.

Martin said that there are far more alligators in the state than people know about.

American alligators can mainly be found in the wild in the southeastern United States in rivers, lakes, ponds, swamps, bayous, marshes and other freshwater spots.
