To Jack Tezak, Sunrise Beach property owner, who donated just under two acres off Route TT between Route MM and Doctor’s Landscaping to Sunrise Beach for another early storm warning siren location. The land could also possibly be a future site for a water tower in that area.

To the city of Lake Ozark and the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District for their cooperative effort to ensure fire suppression ability to businesses and others on the Strip in Lake Ozark. 

To residents who have taken personal responsibility for their safety and purchased weather alert radios. Even though they can be irritating when they go off a dozen times in the middle of the night, that’s when you need them most if a tornado is headed at your house. And with as many dangerous thunderstorms, flash flooding events and tornado warnings as we’ve had posted in the last week, weather radios are money well spent.

If it’s true it’s “not nice to fool Mother Nature” why is it OK for Mother Nature to fool with us? We’re certain our sportsguy isn’t the only one bemoaning heavy rain after heavy rain washing out events. Add to that all the youth baseball teams not getting to play, golfers getting expensive shoes wet and boaters dodging floating debris washed into the lake, and you have a pretty big list.

“Those guys” responsible for gas prices going up every day after last summer’s disaster at the pump and it’s knee-capping the American and world economy. it’s of little comfort to anyone with a wallet to hear gas isn’t as much as is was last year at this time - it still hurts. And we don’t get to knee-cap the oil barons.
