CHEERS
To shoreline volunteers who donate their time, labor and personal expenses to haul tons of garbage and debris off the lake each spring and fall. We would not want to think about how the lake would look without your efforts over the last two decades.
To responsible parents who reported retailers selling alcohol to their children to law enforcement authorities. The first sting operation resulted in a citation, we look forward to as many more sting operations as necessary to stop the problem of underage drinking and cracking down on those who supply alcohol to youngsters.
To Sunrise Beach P&Z members who denied a new license for a foul-smelling asphalt plant inside village limits. And two cheers to the residents who fought for planning and zoning to be implemented,.
'N JEERS
To Alderman Susan Drummond for representing her own personal agenda in pursueing a personal crusade against the mayor and NOT the agenda of her constituents in Lake Ozark. So disconnected is Drummond from the challenges facing the city, she researched and recruited an attorney to prosecute the impeachment weeks before there is a resolution. Maybe that attorney could look into the exploits of a couple board members - or better yet, a special prosecutor. Then again, they elected Drummond, so maybe all the looming infrastructure crises, developments promised and not delivered and declining sales tax revenue aren’t that important to the residents.
