More than 100 volunteers and donations from Lake area communities and businesses worked the Christmas miracle of love into empty shoeboxes, filling 1,884 with items including fun toys and school and hygiene supplies that are headed to children affected by war, disease, disaster, poverty and famine around the world. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization.

the completion of Camdenton's West US-54 Sidewalk Project. The upgraded improvements are a welcomed addition to a community that is attempting to implement a new comprehensive plan with a goal of improving quality of life for all. These sidewalks will allow for residents, who are disabled or lack reliable transportation, to get around a town in a safe manner.

on the other hand, this project was a headache for city officials and residents alike. From February until October, the city had a plethora of problems with its contractor that included a broken street light on an important intersection, unannounced street closings and over a month of delays. Yes, the City ended up saving about $10,000 from the initial contract, but was it really worth it?
