Then there’s the matter of local governance in the mess that is the Camden County Courthouse. That our taxpayer dollars are paying for lawyers and consultants instead of addressing the needs of the county is just wrong.

It’s Plain to See. Republicans Do Not Know How to Govern.

From the federal government to the state government to county government, promises and vows are broken. Governing descends into chaos at all levels of government and the Republicans are fighting among themselves while important issues need to be addressed.

Seven years ago, the Republican Party promised to “Repeal and Replace Obamacare.”

They ran successful campaign after campaign from the federal government to the state houses on the idea but in the meantime, millions of people were getting quality healthcare for the first time.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad that the “Repeal and Replace” votes went down in the Senate. Seeing millions of people lose insurance and health care would be heartbreaking. I’m glad it’s a promise and a vow that they did not keep.

That it was John McCain who cast the deciding vote, after surgery for aggressive brain cancer, made the moment even more heroic. The majority, though, of Republicans demonstrated their heartlessness in both Houses of Congress. This includes Sen. Roy Blunt, Congressman Blaine Leutkemeyer, and Congresswoman Vicki Hartzler.

Republicans at the state level are no better. Governor Greitens campaigned on transparency in government but he received large sums of “dark money”. Request after request has gone unanswered about from whom he received his money.

This summer he called the legislature back two times to pass empty laws that cost the taxpayers of this great state thousands and thousands of dollars. This is money that could have gone into the budget to pay for the needs of Missouri citizens and regular folks like you and me.

What it appears, from top to bottom, is that Republicans do not know how to govern.
