How about these politicians passing some common sense safe boating laws that will give our fine Water Patrol something to enforce and save property and lives?

Shameful.

The St. Louis Post Dispatch (Monday, July 3) had a front page article describing how we have lost control of our lake. The Post readers are being informed of all the problems we are having on this lake that are not being addressed.

It was a very negative article about our beautiful lake -- what a shame.

The article included testimony from residents, business people and visitors and they all told the same story -- the big wakes are killing this lake. One of our native representatives, Rocky Miller, said there may be a solution "down the road."

What?! "Down the road?" There should have been some action taken years ago before millions of dollars of damage occurred and lives lost. "Down the road" to me means that Representative Miller is buying time until he can think of another excuse to do nothing.

Democracy is for the good of the majority. What we have in our lake is "rude-ocracy," politicians that represent and protect the rude boat operators -- not the majority of us that want a safe lake.

I cannot believe our politicians can't see how dangerous their lake has become. I cannot understand why they won't step up and do what's right. It's pretty obvious who they represent.
