Bottom line: We need a safe lake for everyone. Huge wakes caused by rude operators kill people and damage property. These people must be warned about their huge wakes and ticketed accordingly before more people are injured and property damaged.

Let's avert a disaster.

The 4th of July is on a Tuesday, which means "no wake" areas will be enforced Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday but not Monday, even though the holiday traffic will be just as heavy that day as the other three holiday days. That doesn't make sense.

That middle day will be a dangerous day for all of us. Our politicians and legislators who we pay to represent us lake people do not get involved in any issues that remotely have anything to do with dangerous rough lake conditions.

Why?

My opinion is that our Water Patrol people do an outstanding job considering how few of them there are and the inadequate laws they have to work with every day.

Come on, lake politicians. Quit sitting on your hands and help the people you represent.
