Dorothy Virginia Selby, age 73, of Linn Creek, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Dorothy was born December 10, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Graham Warren and Marie Lillian (Apenbrinck) Hogan.

She was united in marriage on May 11, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri to James Selby and together they had shared the past 52 years until her passing.

Dorothy was a loving wife and mother who devoted her life to making a wonderful home for her family and friends.  She enjoyed shopping and cooking and taking adventure trips with her husband.  More than anything, Dorothy loved her family dearly and treasured every moment she spent with them.
Dorothy was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Osage Beach from 1989-2011 and a current member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Lake Ozark.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband James, of the home; two sons, John Warren Selby and wife, Diane, of St. Charles, Missouri and Robert Curtis “Robby” Selby of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Joanne Marie Pope and husband, Bryan of Camdenton, Missouri; two brothers, Warren Hogan and wife, Mary, of St. James, Missouri and John Hogan of Rolla, Missouri; two sisiters-in-laws  Shirley Curtis of Springfield Virginia and Roberta Lane of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren, Hannah Mae Selby, Robert Warren Selby, Virginia Christine Selby, James Keith Pope and Charles Michael Pope; two great-grandchildren, Dade Curtis Morgan and Graham Franklin Weyer along with several other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jim Hogan.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church Lake Ozark on Friday Jan 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m..

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, at Ft. Wood Cemetery in Waynesville, Missouri.

Memorial donations are suggested to Children’s Miracle Network, Springfield, Missouri and may be left at the funeral home.
