James Milton Hodge, 75, a 38 year resident of Simi Valley, California, currently living in Lake Ozark, Missouri, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in Jefferson City, Missouri.  He was born August 7, 1936, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of Milton W. and Hazel (Goza) Hodge, both deceased.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from California State University at Northridge.
Jim served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958 in the 82nd Airborne Division, 508 Regimental Combat Team. He was a fireman in Odessa, Texas, and Beverly Hills, California and also worked in the precious metals business, dealing with gold and silver.

He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and had been a member of the Optimist and Rotary Clubs in California. Jim was an avid reader and enjoyed spending his time golfing, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, working crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.  He loved watching the kids play sports and spending time together at the lake house.

On November 16, 1963, Jim was united in marriage in Pocatello, Idaho, to Analee Marlow, who survives at their home. They lived in southern California 40 years before making the Lake of the Ozarks their home.
Other survivors include two children: Stacy Hodge Cousins of Four Seasons, Missouri, (husband, Gale), James Brent of Kasson, Minnesota (wife, Shelley); three sisters: Donna Gormly of Dallas, Texas, Debbie Hodge of Spring Hill, Kansas, Sandy Julien of British Columbia, Canada; one brother, David Hodge of Branson, Missouri; and three grandchildren: McKinna Hodge, Cameron Hodge, and Max Cousins.
