88, served in Coast Guard during WW II, worked as a machinist for TWA airlines


George Warren Tolby, 88, of Rubbles Point in Lake Ozark, formerly of Kansas City, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at Windsor Estates in Camdenton.
George was born Nov. 17, 1920 in Rockport, Mo., a son to William Willis and Clara Bell (Townsend) Tolby.
George was united in marriage on Feb. 11, 1944 to Rose Cozad and together they had shared the past 65 years until his passing.
George had served his country proudly in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. As a career, he had worked for many years as a machinist with TWA airlines, retiring in 1984.
 George was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
George is survived by his wife Rose of the home; one daughter, Sharan Ray and husband Don of Weatherby, Mo.; one son Michael Tolby and wife Theron of Overland Park, Kan.; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild, along with several other relatives and many friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wayne and his sister Margaret.
George was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Memorial services will be held in Kansas City at a later date.
