60,  Army vet was an electrical contractor at the lake after his retirement from Mid American Energy

James Kenneth “Ken” Grable, 60, of Camdenton died Thursday, June 25, 2009.
Ken was born Feb. 1, 1949, the son of George H. and Alice (Elder) Grable. Following graduation from Lone Tree High School in Lone Tree, Iowa in 1967, he attended and graduated from the University of  Iowa.
During the Vietnam War he served in the Army Reserves receiving the rank of 2nd. Sgt. before his discharge.
He married Sherry Hudson in 1969 in West Liberty, Iowa.  For over 22 years he worked for Mid American Energy at their Iowa City location.  Following retirement from Mid American, he moved to the Lake of the Ozarks where he was self-employed as an electrical contractor.
He enjoyed life to its fullest, spending many days on his boat, working in the shop with wood or metals, traveling the country, snow skiing in the winter months, restoring old cars, but most of all being with his family and many friends both in Iowa and Missouri was the icing on the cake!
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Heather and Ray Carrizales of Fairfax, Iowa; four grandchildren, Maya, Cole, Ava, and Cade; parents, George and Alice Grable of Bettendorf, Iowa; sisters, Linda Marcus and her husband, Mark of Pasco, Wash., Marilyn Grable of Davenport, Iowa, and Beth Eden and her husband, Gary of Iowa City; and a former wife, Sherry Grable of Solon, Iowa.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, Iowa. Services at the graveside for family will be held at the Nichols Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to a fund for his grandchildren or Hospice Compassus of Davenport.
Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web at www.gayandciha.com. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Ken’s family and his arrangements.
