Darrell Ray Van Hooser “Mr. O’Possum”, age 47, of Eldon, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
Darrell was born March 8, 1962 in Tuscumbia, a son to Doral Gene and Beulah Mae (Anderson) Van Hooser.
Darrell was united in marriage on March 12, 2005, to Patricia Thompson.
Darrell had worked for many years as a farm hand on both cattle and hog farms. Darrell was an active member of Aurora Springs Baptist Church in Eldon.
He enjoyed going to auctions and he especially loved his puppy Squirt. Darrell had a very giving heart.
Darrell was a loving husband and brother. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Darrell is survived by his wife Patricia of the home; one brother, Les Van Hooser of Eldon, along with several other relatives and many friends.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Paula Sue Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Aurora Springs Baptist Church in Eldon. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9-11 a.m. prior to service time at the church.
Interment will be at Dooley Cemetery in Eldon.
