Cheryl was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially cared for her grandchildren and the Hi Tech Auto Body tow truck drivers.

Cheryl Louise (Smith) Buechter, age 70, of Osage Beach, passed away on Friday, September 8 at her home.

She was born in St. Louis on June 24, 1947, daughter of the late Roger Smith and Vera Mae Machon. On August 22, 1975, in Miami, Oklahoma, Cheryl married Henry Buechter, who survives at their home.

Cheryl owned and operated Rafters Restaurant for over 20 years and also worked at various restaurants around the Lake area. She was later employed as a dispatcher at Hi Tech Auto Body and Towing.

Cheryl was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially cared for her grandchildren and the Hi Tech Auto Body tow truck drivers.

In addition to her husband Henry, she is also survived by two sons, Jason Wimberley and Tony Buechter; two daughters, Tina Galbreath and Amanda Frymire; 11 grandchildren, Nikki Wimberley, Nathan Wimberley, Brittany Wimberley, Bella Buechter, Parker Martin, Hannah Buechter, Katelinn Frymire, Hadlee Buechter, Trenton Martin, Gabe Martin, and Jacob Martin; step-father, Dilbert Machon; one brother, Jack Riley; and two sisters, Melanie Williams and Dana Knewtson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Wimberley.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., with services immediately following at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, September 13, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Cliff Simmons will officiate. Interment will be held in Iberia Cemetery.
