A lifetime employee of Weber Costello-Beckley Cardy, he worked his way from production to top management of parent company Harcourt Brace Jovanovich before retiring with Jerry to their lake home on the Little Niangua.

Francis R. Sears, age 95, native son of Chicago Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his Mesquite, Texas home July 11, 2017 and was laid to rest in Laurie’s St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Beloved husband of the late Jerry (nee Carter) Sears; loving father of Broxon; treasured grandfather of Ryan (Candace) and Nick; cherished great-grandfather of Zach, Christian, Katelyn, Natalee, Wyatt and Tyler.

He was preceded in death by parents, Martha (nee Kokoszynski) and Hersie R. Sears.

A proud graduate of Bloom High School and Purdue University, he served during WWII in the U.S. Army’s 606th Tank Destroyer Battalion. A lifetime employee of Weber Costello-Beckley Cardy, he worked his way from production to top management of parent company Harcourt Brace Jovanovich before retiring with Jerry to their lake home on the Little Niangua.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
