Gary was an active member of the Lake of the Ozarks Corvette Club for many years. His wife, Florence and he spent many hours on corvette runs and activities. He was also a member of the Osage Community Elks Lodge #2705 in Laurie, which he really enjoyed.

Gary Lee Bachman, 79, died July 15 with family by his side at Lake Regional Hospital.

He was raised in St. Joseph, Missouri where he graduated from Central High School. Gary joined the Army National Guard in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1965.

After taking early retirement from Amoco Oil, he moved to the Lake of the Ozarks. While working as a Real Estate Agent he continued to enjoy the lake life. He spent many hours fishing and skiing with his kids and grandkids. Eventually Gary retired from real estate to be a full time lake person.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Bachman; three children, Shelly (Gere) Boyle; Brad Bachman; and Don (Tami) Bachman; three step-children, Ray (Sara) Robinett; Debbie (Joe) Robinett; and Vernon (Regina) Robinett; twelve grandchildren, Skyler, Shelby, Sydney, Creighton, Kierra, Gerilyn, Jami, Matt, Greg, Michelle, Jeannie and Ricky; four great-grandchildren, Danica, Alyssa, Aliyah and Fay; his sister, Janice (Gordon) Sunderland; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ruth Bachman of St. Joseph, Missouri.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 19 at Kent Memorial Lutheran Church at 184 Sunset Hill Drive, Sunrise Beach, MO 65079. The family will be receiving visitors one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Kent Memorial Lutheran Church, or any charities of your chose in honor of Gary Bachman.
