Michael Carr (1941-2017), 75, of Columbia, formerly of Osage Beach, MO passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Columbia, MO. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO. Mass of Christian burial will be 10AM, Friday, May 19, 2017 at the St. Thomas More Newman Center in Columbia; burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Michael was born November 29, 1941 in Washington D.C. to Richard J. and Mary Fogarty Carr. On September 5, 1964 he married Ernestine (Tina) Vanni in Washington D.C. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He had a successful career in accounting for hotels and retired as CFO for a development company. He enjoyed music and reading, and spending time with his family. He always had a hobby and would move onto new ones after perfecting an old one. He was also a Civil War authority, and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved spending time on social media with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends around the world.
He is survived by his wife Tina; daughter, Anna & husband David Hargis of Columbia; grandson, Scott Michael Hargis of Columbia; sisters, Mary Jo Green & husband Michael of Franklin, TN, and Joan Voigt & husband Rob of Bethesda, MD; sisters-in-law Toni and Joan Carr; as well as nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Richard and James Carr.
