Chris loved to travel, and he relished telling people that he had been out of the country over 50 times. His stories of these adventures left most people laughing and scratching their heads with wonder.
Christopher James Myers of Osage Beach, MO passed away on May 11th, 2017. He was born on February 9th, 1961 at the Randolph County Hospital to Charles “Chuck” David Myers and Earleen E. (Cruse) Myers, who preceded him in death.
His early years were spent in Brunswick, MO. Chris moved to Lake of the Ozarks with his family as a young boy. He graduated from School of the Osage in 1979 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Food Service and Lodging Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1984. He was social chairman of his Fraternity, Phi Kappa Theta, while at Mizzou.
His greatest joy was his daughter, Megan Lorraine (Myers) Cartwright, who lives in Villa Ridge, MO with her husband Jerry. Chris enjoyed introducing Megan to many of Missouri’s statewide elected officials, and he kept a framed collage of these events for all to see. He watched with pride as she grew into a self-reliant young woman, and he proudly bragged to all about her service in the Iowa National Guard and her recent graduation from Goldfarb School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO with her BSN.
He was united in marriage to Kelley (Flanagin) Myers in 1983, who survives in Iowa City, IA. He was then united in marriage on March 6th, 2003 to Cheryl Grazier who survives in St. Augustine, FL.
He was a partner in Lewis and Myers Investments, Inc., owned Myers One-Hour Photo, Amante Pizza, and Myers Conoco Bait and Tackle. He also started C. Myers Brokers Club Realty, and he worked with Hilliker Commercial Real Estate in St. Louis, MO and Union Planters (Regions) Bank in Jefferson City, MO.
Chris was known for his community and volunteer activities, including being selected as one of the Lake Region’s 40 under 40, the past chair of the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee, the past chair of the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Industrial Development Committee, a past member of the Board of Directors for the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, a past member of the Order of the Elks, past president and treasurer of the Osage Beach Optimist Club, and past treasurer of the Bagnell Dam Board of Realtors.
He also was the originator and chair of the 3 Rivers Run Fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Hall of Fame, and a proud member of the University of Missouri Alumni Association.

Chris will be remembered by many as someone who would literally give the shirt off his back to a stranger.
Most importantly, Chris loved his family and treasured the memories made with them. He is survived by his father Chuck Myers; his brother David Myers and sister-in-law Debbie Myers; his brother Cotton Myers and sister-in-law Marcy Myers; his brother Shawn Myers; and his brother Christian Myers and Lorie Chittenden, all of Osage Beach, MO.
He is also survived by his brother Gray Myers of Jefferson City, MO; his brother John Jay Myers and sister-in-law Chenin Myers of Dallas, TX; his sister Ashley Myers Ouellette and brother-in-law Skip Ouelette of Wellington, FL; and sister Kathleen (Myers) Reese and brother-in-law Robert Reese of Lake Ozark, MO. Additionally, Chris had 20 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews that he was very proud of.
Chris’ countless friends are invited to his celebration of life on Saturday May 20, 2017 at Dog Days Bar and Grill. A private interment will be in Brunswick, MO.
