Ron was raised in the Kansas City area. He served his country proudly in the United State Navy Reserves. He moved to California where he met and married Ann. They made their home in Kansas City and later lived in Arkansas and settled in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. He worked as a general contractor.

Ronald Alan McKenzie, 82, of Sunrise Beach passed away Wednesday, April 5 in E.W. Thompson Health and Rehab Center, Sedalia, Missouri. He was born February 27, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas a son of the late James Alan and Esther (Steinmier) McKenzie.

On August 24, 1957 in Lafayette, California, he was united in marriage to Doral Ann Hansen and to this union four children were born. Together they shared fifty-seven years of marriage until her passing on July 8, 2015.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott McKenzie and a granddaughter, Keisha Wallace.

Survivors include his daughter, Vicki Wallace of Sedalia, Missouri; two sons, Mike McKenzie of Desloge, Missouri; and Rick McKenzie of San Antonio, Texas; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, James G. McKenzie of Russellville, Arkansas; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 11 in Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 - 6 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Garber Memorial Estates
