Lou was a member of the Crocker Presbyterian Church and the Lady Elks Auxiliary #2705 in Laurie. She enjoyed spending her spare time bowling, crocheting and flower gardening.
Mary “Lou” Harper, age 78, of Laurie, passed away Friday, March 31 at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. She was born April 24, 1938, in Crocker, Missouri, the daughter of the late Herman and Jennie May (Turner) Jones.
On June 17, 1972, in Crocker, she was united in marriage to her surviving husband, Lile Harper.
Lou was a member of the Crocker Presbyterian Church and the Lady Elks Auxiliary #2705 in Laurie.
She enjoyed spending her spare time bowling, crocheting and flower gardening.
In addition to her husband, Lile, she is survived by her children, Bobbie Jo Wallace and husband Rod of Salem, Oregon, Jack Richard Elliott and wife Ginger of Tucson, Arizona, Joe Elliott and wife Teresa of Camdenton, Missouri, Melvin Harper and wife Jill of Republic, Missouri and Sharron Kennedy of Fair Play, Missouri; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Jones and a granddaughter, Jamie Decker.
A celebration of Lou’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 6, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie with Pastor Nick Stutesman officiating.
