Donate your used cell phone, PDAʼs and inkjet cartridges to help raise much needed funds for Alexis Reed’s “Tradition of Europe” People to People Trip. 

Reed is collecting used cell phones, PDAʼs and inkjet cartridges through Feb. 12 for the purpose of raising money to be a Student Ambassador with People to People.

The People to People movement was launched in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. For nearly 50 years, People to People Ambassador Programs, have served as an educational travel provider, organizing and promoting opportunities for bridging cultural and political borders through direct interaction, unparalleled access, and unique experiences.  She will be touring and learning about the culture of 6 countries in 21 days this summer. 

The countries Reed will be touring include Ireland, Wales, England, France, Belgium and Netherlands.  She will receive money from Phoneraiser for each item collected during this fundraiser.

Phoneraiser is a company that specializes in recycling and refurbishing used technology.  Your donation will help protect the environment. Your unwanted cell phones, PDAʼs and inkjet cartridges will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations or refurbished and reused. Phoneraiser makes your unneeded technology available to those who can use it, while keeping it out of the landfill. If improperly disposed of, the cell phone, PDA can pollute up to 35,000 gallons of drinking water.

“I am very excited about this program,” Reed said. “This recycling program not only benefits my fundraising efforts but assists in preserving the environment and bringing communication to people who could not otherwise afford it.”
