The H1N1 flu is still making Missourians ill.

According to the state health department, over 28,000 Missourians have had some strain of flu this season — 42 times higher than last year.

State health officials are urging parents to make sure children under age 10 have received both the H1N1 shot and the booster shot. School age children have the highest rate in infection.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says over 80 million Americans have had H1N1. Up to 11,000 people are estimated to have died nationally.
