Approximately 150 people returned to work Monday just three days after fire destroyed the largest business in Linn Creek. An overheated exhaust fan caused the fire that took down a 10,000 square foot building in the Woodland Scenics complex on East Valley Drive.

The Osage Beach Fire Marshal tracked the fire's origin to the motor on an exhaust fan. The overheated fan caused some nearby foam material used to make model railroad scenery ablaze.
Firefighters from four different departments spent more than six hours fighting to save the rest of the complex from fire. As a result, two thirds of the Woodland Scenics complex escaped fire damage, but did sustain some smoke and water damage.

Firefighter's exhausted the city of Linn Creek's 80,000-gal. water supply within an hour and a half of arriving on scene Thursday afternoon. Linn Creek went under a boil order, but that order has since been lifted and the city's water system is functioning fully.

"Because of our thorough safety procedures and incredible emergency support personnel, we were able to get everyone out safely. Although one of our buildings has been lost we are back at work (Friday) assessing what needs to be done and most operations are continuing as usual," a Woodland Scenics representative stated Friday on the company's Facebook page.
