Grab your best hammer and a box of nails, Habitat for Humanity needs your help to make a family’s dream of owning their own home a reality.
In order to raise the necessary funds to do so, Habitat for Humanity is throwing the first “Builders Bash” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill in Sunrise Beach.
For one night only, the pirate-themed restaurant will take on a new look and get a temporary “make-under”.
The restaurant will be decorated to resemble a construction site to go along with the Habitat for Humanity-theme with drop cloths, hand tools, saw horses and other props. The dress will be ordinary work clothes.
The goal of Builders Bash is to raise enough money, building materials and in-kind services to build the ninth Habitat for Humanity home in Camden County.
More than $75,000 is needed in materials and in-kind services to get the project started.
Once the money is raised, the name of the family helping build their new home through sweat equity hours will be announced by Habitat for Humanity.
Tickets for the event, which will feature five food stations, are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. For each ticket sold, $7 goes directly to Habitat for Humanity.

Sidebar:
For more than ten years, Lake of the Ozarks Habitat for Humanity has helped low-income families living in sub-standard housing achieve their dream of owning their own home.
Working with business partners, private individuals and community organizations, the chapter has built eight homes throughout Camden County, helping 13 adults and 28 children achieve that dream.
Habitat for Humanity is not a give-away program.
Each family buys the home from Habitat with an interest-free loan, puts at least 150 hours of sweat equity into building their home and attends financial counseling and household maintenance education.
The families are also responsible for any further real estate taxes and insurance.
The average house in Camden County costs an approximate $80,000.
