The latest debit card fraud being reported in the area may have connections to an overseas scam.
The Camden County Sheriff’s Office has been receiving reports of Debit card fraud in the past week.
The victims of this crime have reported transactions being made with their debit card  for items and services in various parts of the United States.
No link has been made to any particular individual or group. As the investigation stands now it appears the suspects may not be in the United States.
Sheriff Page states his office is working with various federal agencies to ascertain the identity of the suspects.
Page said the best action that the citizens of Camden County can take at this time is to closely monitor credit and debit card accounts to see if charges have been made that are unfamiliar and if one is discovered to report it immediately to your credit/debit card provider and your local law enforcement agency.
For additional information or to report a possible case of fraud contact Lt. Kelly Luttrell at 1-573-346-2243.
