(AP) — A man from the Czech Republic has been sentenced to three years in prison for failing to return a recreational vehicle he rented in western Missouri.
A Platte County jury convicted 44-year-old Milos Gaspar in January of failure to return rental property. Gaspar was sentenced Thursday.
Gaspar had rented the $80,000 RV in 2002 in the Kansas City suburb of Riverside.
Prosecutor Eric Zahnd says Gaspar was found last year in the Central American nation of Belize on a half-million-dollar luxury yacht, which he also had rented and failed to return.
In 2006, Gaspar was found in the Canary Islands on a rented catamaran he hadn’t returned.
