Christopher Cervantez, 41, who was reported missing June 13 by family members and then reported to the police as being found two days later, was said to be in stable condition by his family members on Thursday, according to a release issued by the Camdenton Police Department.
On June 15 at 6:50 p.m., a family member of Cervantez contacted the police to advise them that Cervantez had been located in the woods behind his home at North Ozark Road.
He was found in a location about 65 feet away from his home after family members went behind his house, called out his name and heard sounds that they believed to be coming from Cervantez, according to the Camdenton Police Department.
Cervantez was found in an area that was heavily vegetated, overgrown and down a steep incline.
He was conscious and somewhat alert when contacted by Camdenton police officers, who responded along with the Camden County Sheriff’s department, Camdenton Fire Department, Mid-County Fire Protection District, Missouri State Highway Patrol, St. John’s Staff of Life and St. John’s ambulance.
Cervantez was airlifted to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, according to the release.
Cervantez is also said to have an unspecified medical condition, but it has not been determined if the condition is what led him to go missing, or if the condition is related to his missing, according to the police department.
Before Cervantez was located, the police searched his home, the heavily wooded area behind his home, vacant buildings in the area and areas near the residence but were unable to locate him, according to the release.
