Two plain clothes officers from the Camden County Sheriff’s Department and the Osage Beach Police Department were working an undercover assignment in the vicinity of Hwy 54 and Route D at approximately 11:59 a.m. Wednesday.
The officers witnessed a green 1971 Ford pickup being operated in a careless manner.
The passenger in the vehicle, Justin D. Hartwick, 17, of Lake Ozark, was pointing a firearm at passing motorists including the undercover officers.
A felony stop was conducted on the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and the aforementioned firearm was recovered from Hartwick. The firearm is actually a BB gun, however a reasonable person, based on the appearance of the gun and the threatening manner is which it was being brandished, would have believed it was real. Also found in the vehicle were methamphetamines and marijuana.
Cody M. White, 18, of Kaiser, was charged with possession of marijuana under 35 grams and posted a $1,000 bond.
Hartwick was transported to the Camden County Jail and was charged with possession of methamphetamines and assault on a police officer. Bond was set at $20,000.
