One person died and another was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon near Linn Creek on Route V 1.9 miles east of V-17.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, 18-year-old Korey J. Davis, of Linn Creek, was driving a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve.
The vehicle ran off the left side of the road and traveled down an embankment before hitting two trees.
Davis was killed in the accident.
A passenger in the vehicle, 17-year-old Ashley T. Hodel, of Camdenton, sustained serious injuries. She was flown to St. John's Medical Center in Springfield, Mo., by Staff For Life Helicopter, according to the report.
The report states both occupants were wearing seat belts.
