A Lake Ozark woman is in serious, but stable condition after a domestic assault incident at the 4800 block of Highway 54.

Osage Beach police said at about 3:50 p.m., June 24, a 50-year-old female was reportedly run over by a small, white SUV.

Wendell S. Arnold, 49, has been charged with first degree felony assault and is being held with no bond. He has been identified as the victim's husband.

Witnesses told police the victim exited the vehicle in the area of Panera Bread and Highway 54, after which, the suspect drove in behind the victim and intentionally struck her, causing her to become airborne. While the victim was lying on the ground, the suspect ran over the victim's arm.

The suspect then ignored witness' pleas not to touch the victim and loaded the woman into the vehicle.

Officers found a vehicle matching the description of that involved in the incident and a woman lying on the ground near it at the 7400 block of Jayhawk Street. The suspect had fled on foot and was located by a Camden County Sheriff's deputy in the area of the Osage Beach Premium Outlet Mall.

The suspect is being held at the Camden County jail on charges of first degree assault.
