Registration for kindergarten will begin March 1. Parents of children who are the age of five before Aug. 1, 2010, need to call Parents as Teachers at 346-9268 to make an appointment for a kindergarten screening.
To enroll your child for kindergarten, please bring the following items with you to the Dogwood Elementary School office:
1. State birth certificate
2. Immunization records
3. Proof of residency
Kindergarten registration hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Registration forms for Jumpstart will be available at registration. Jumpstart is a summer school program scheduled for June 2-June 29, 2010 for children entering kindergarten in the fall.
There are NEW REQUIREMENTS, effective beginning the 2010-2011 school year, including:
A second dose of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine is required for all students entering kindergarten.
If the kindergarten child has had varicella (chickenpox) disease, a licensed doctor of medicine (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) may sign and place on file at school, a written statement documenting the month and year of the chickenpox disease as satisfactory evidence of having had the disease.
Parental or guardian statements of disease will no longer be accepted beginning with the 2010-2011 school year for children entering kindergarten
