The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary – Lake of the Ozarks recently held a boating safety class at the Mid-County Fire Protection District Headquarters. The USCG Auxiliary host “About Boating Safely” classes that are open to the public and are a recognized class. Missouri state law requires that any person born after Jan. 1, 1984 must successfully complete a NASBLA-approved boating education course before operating any motorized vessel on Missouri lakes. The law went into effect for Missouri residents on Jan. 1, 2005 and Jan. 1, 2006 for non-Missouri residents. For information on future boating classes contact uscgaux.loz@gmail.com.
