Janice K. Gross, daughter of Jesse and Mattie Richardson Poynter, was born July 28, 1947, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, October 25, 2018, in Lake Regional Hospital, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years, two months, and twenty-eight days.
On March 16, 1983, she was united in marriage to Larry W. Gross, and they shared the last thirty-five years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Stanley Sanders, Jr.; two brothers, Cliff and Leland Poynter; and three sisters, Dorothy Couch, Trina Poynter, and Bob Deckard.
Janice is survived by her husband, Larry, of the home; five daughters, Paula Sanders, and her husband, Lowell, of West Plains, Missouri, Tammy Hildebrand, of Osage Beach, Missouri, Kelsey Burd, and her husband, Darrick, Kim Saunders, and Jessica McGuire, and her husband, Jason, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Matt Hildebrand, and his wife, Bobbie, of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Piper, Dalley, Tyler, Levi, Whitney, Dakston, Owen, and Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Shayna, JayAnna, and Abel; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Lebanon and was raised in the Lebanon and Camdenton areas. She had made her home in Camdenton for over thirty years, and was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
She enjoyed being outdoors, particularly on the Lake and loved to fish. She also liked reading, shopping and playing scratch off tickets. She possessed a delightful sense of humor and liked to tell stories. She centered her life around her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, with Rev. Stan Hill officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital may be made through Holman-Howe Funeral Home, P. O.
