Sunrise Beach American Legion Riders (ALR) group presented the Camdenton Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Commander a $200 check for their support during Bikefest 2018.  This donation to Post 5923 is a direct result of money raised by the ALR during Passport Stop activities at Zach Wheat Post 624.  The VFW parking lot was the staging point for 70 motorcycles and tricycles prior to the 2nd Annual Veteran's Parade from Camdenton to Sunrise Beach.  Local police authorities escorted the participants, veterans and non-veterans alike, on Business Route 5 to route 5 northward.  Astounded riders were pleased to see the entire Hurricane Deck Elementary School student body outside waving US Flags and cheering as they passed by. ALR Director Rick Vondrachek presented the $200 check to VFW Commander Donovan Pulver for excellent support during the event.  Cmdr Pulver's VFW volunteers cooked breakfast for the riders and provided an air conditioned respite during staging prior to the escort north.
