The UTV went off the right side of the roadway about one-half mile west of Route BB around 4:20 p.m., and struck a stump, overturning the vehicle, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. All occupants were ejected.

A Montreal, Missouri man was killed and his four-year-old passenger seriously injured in a UTV accident late Wednesday afternoon.

Terry D. Scott, 61, was driving a 2012 Yardsport YS400 on Longar Road south of Montreal, Missouri on October 3, 2018.

The UTV went off the right side of the roadway about one-half mile west of Route BB around 4:20 p.m., and struck a stump, overturning the vehicle, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. All occupants were ejected. 

Scott was pronounced dead on scene at 5:13 p.m., the report stated. Deacon B. Scott, 4, of Montreal, Missouri received injuries described as serious. He was flown by Mercy Life Line Air Ambulance helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri for treatment.

Terry Scott’s death was MSHP Troop F region’s first fatality in October and its 59th in 2018.
