A Blues Concert and dinner fundraiser, featuring the Joe Lewis Band, will be held for local resident Sheri Scott on Saturday, September 15 at the Omega Coffee Company in Laurie. Dinner starts at 4 p.m. and the concert will begin at 6 p.m.

Sheri injured her arm in a motorcycle accident earlier this summer. She has been unable to work since the accident, due to her surgery and recovery time.

Her doctor recently released her to go back to work, but she will need a little help from her friends to cover about one month of living expenses.

The Joe Lewis Band plays both straight up blues and gospel blues, with all the soul you would expect to hear from the great blues performers. Joe was raised in south Picayune Mississippi, so he brings an authentic blues tone and feel, along with a rockin’ blues guitar.

Stop by on your way to the Hillbilly Fair, on the same day, in the same town, and enjoy a gourmet Chicago Dog while listening to some excellent blues. Corbett’s Genuine Chicago Dogs will be onsite at 4 p.m. and fifty-percent of the Chicago Dogs sales will go to Sheri.

Corbett’s has gourmet Chicago Dogs and sausages piled high with a choice of fresh tomatoes, crispy pickles, onions, sport peppers, relish, celery salt, sauerkraut, ketchup and regular or spicy mustard, all on a poppy seed or plain bun. Gourmet coffee drinks, exotic teas, frozen smoothies, and homemade baked items will also be available for purchase.

Donations can be securely made online at sunrisebible.org. Be sure to note the donation is for Sheri.

The Omega Coffee Company is located at 520 North Main Street, Laurie, Mo. 65038. For information call 573 374-6397.
