Two women were injured Saturday evening when the boat they were riding in on Lake of the Ozarks overturned.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol incident report, Dawn M. Briney, 48, of Ozawke, Kansas, and Audra Erk, 38, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri received moderate injuries. They were taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital.

Troy A. Garison, 55, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri was the drive of the vessel operating at the 1.3 mile marker of the Gravois Arm at the time of the crash, around 5:20 p.m. September 1, 2018.

The 2000 Cigarette was southbound. The initial report states that Garison was operating the vessel too fast for conditions, and it overturned, ejecting the passengers.

None of the boat occupants were wearing lifejackets.
