An Eldon man is facing three charges related to a shooting on Mill Street in the early morning hours of August 6.
Shane Brown has been charged by the Miller County Prosecutor’s Office with first degree assault, armed criminal action and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, prior and persistent offender.
According to a press release from the Eldon Police Department, officers were dispatched to Mill Street around 2:30 a.m. and found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg at the residence. The victim, who is not being identified, identified Brown as the shooter. Officers were told Brown had fled the scene in an unknown direction.
A search ensued over the next few hours before Brown was apprehended at the Jiffy Stop in Eldon.
Brown was taken into custody and transported to the Eldon Police Department.
The press release states that Brown was interviewed but no information about or from the interrogation was provided.
Brown was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold while a probable cause affidavit was filed with the Miller County Prosecutor’s Office.
