Stover Police arrested two women in the last week on charges related to possessing illicit drugs while caring for children.

On July 3, 2018, Stover police officers were advised by an off-duty law enforcement officer of a female at G2M Supermarket who appeared to be under the influence of an illegal drug.

Officers were able to stop the vehicle that the female was driving. A 3-year-old child was in the vehicle with her. Officers spoke with the driver, Stacey Richardet of Stover, and conducted a field sobriety. They also searched the vehicle. 29-year-old Richardet was taken into custody and later charged by Morgan County Prosecutor Attorney for the following:

Count 1
Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a Class D Felony
Prior and Persistent Felony Drug Offender, a Class B Felony

Count 2 
Endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree, a Class B Felony
Prior and Persistent Felony Offender, a Class B Felony

Count 3 
Driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor.

Richardet is currently being held at the Morgan County jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash or surety bond.

On July 5, officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for 202 East 6th street in Stover. Officers with the Stover Police Department, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force then executed the search warrant on the address.

During the course of the search, officers encountered a female, a male and two small children in the residence. Andrea Whitney of Stover was taken into custody and later charged by the Morgan County Prosecuting Attorney for the following:

Possession of a controlled Substance (methamphetamine), a class D felony

Endangering the Welfare of a child involving drugs in the first degree, first offense a class D felony

Endangering the Welfare of a child involving drugs in the first degree, firstoffense a Class D felony

The male subject was questioned and later released. Whitney is being held at the Morgan County jail in lieu of a $20,000 cash or surety bond.
