As they seek the public’s help in the investigation, the Miller County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the human remains discovered in recent weeks.
The remains of Tyler J. Worthington, 34, of the State of California were found in a rural part of the county on June 11, 2018. According to a press release from the sheriff’s office released Thursday afternoon, Worthington’s family has been notified and the investigation into his death is ongoing.
The MCSO is being assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Crime and Drug Control, working to follow up on more than 60 leads at this time.
Investigators are looking for the vehicle Worthington was possibly driving while he was in Missouri, the press release states. It is described as a 2018 white Toyota Corolla with Illinois registration of AW70304.
After an autopsy June 13, the remains were described as being a male who had been entered into the national missing person's database, and the death was ruled a homicide. No further details have been released at this time.
